MILAN, Italy — 22 January 2026 — Scientology’s Volunteer Ministers have set up their well-known yellow tent in Milan, offering a visible meeting point for practical help and listening support, alongside simple “Tools for Life” techniques that can be applied to real-life difficulties. Already seen in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents meet trained volunteers directly and learn straightforward methods for communication breakdowns, workplace stress and conflict resolution, as well as support after personal emergencies.
Volunteer Ministers are local citizens trained through 19 introductory “Tools for Life” courses covering communication, study and learning methods, interpersonal relations and problem-solving. The approach is focused on the individual: identify the issue and offer a step that can be used immediately.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working with local services and civil-protection partners to help clear homes and public spaces.
In Milan, activity expanded during the COVID-19 period with sanitisation efforts and support for families in need. Organisers say volunteers then continued with community care work, including more than 160 consecutive Saturdays of clean-up and assistance, extending across all nine municipalities of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as supporting aid eu news von der leyen shipments to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, communities grow stronger when citizens are equipped to help each other in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice.
